Development of ONE – Machine Learning and Data Mining

At Blueshift we are always looking for ways to improve the user experience and  the quality of information that we display.
As part of the development at Blueshift, we have been investigating the effects of Machine Learning and Data Mining tools to help analyse past promotions and determine what will make a successful promotion in the future. We want to be able to provide clients with the capability to maximise the potential of every promotion that they create. This can be done by providing information that is otherwise obscured by human intuition or hidden underneath a complex interaction of variables. We have been testing the ability to transform the data we have into predictions on the success of future promotions. Part of this process is to determine the key factors of a promotion, that is, what is most important to get right when creating a successful promotion. Once these factors are determined they can be used to predict the likelihood of success for  a possible promotion. If you are only interested in the prediction of certain elements of a promotion, specific key factors can also be inspected individually.

An important part of developing accurate predictions is to have reliable tools. To develop this we have been using SQL Server Data Tools. This has allowed us to develop and implement many different Algorithms in a fast and flexible manner. The ease of being able to connect and interact with the databases directly, has made the development of this an enjoyable experience.

We are looking forward to developing this tool further so that we are able help clients improve their speed, accuracy and effectiveness when using our software.
